A care package from home

8:09 pm

I'm sure you're all sick to death of hearing about my boyfriend, but when he came to visit he brought me a little package of gifts that my mum put together for me! Since my family live pretty far away (I'm talking different continents), I don't get the chance to go home at the weekends like my other friends do, so I only see my family in the big holidays - Christmas, Easter and summer. Three times a year is not much! Anyway, my mum and I are really close and I was so super excited to receive some little presents from her that I thought I would share them with you all!

First off, she sent them wrapped in this gorgeous girly gift bag - so adorable. I know it's only a gift bag but it's my favourite colours, matches my bedroom and has a gorgeous little phrase on it: "Things are beautiful if you love them". Something to think about... Anyway, I know I'll be keeping this bag for a long time to store little bits and bobs in my room!

The first things I unwrapped were a cute set of toiletries from Bath & Body Works! It's the 'Dark Kiss' set of body lotion, shower gel and perfume, and my mum managed to get hold of some travel sized versions of them for me - perfect for the limited space in my uni room! The scent is gorgeous and I've always been a big fan of Bath & Body Works, so if you've never tried any of their products before then I seriously recommend it!

Next up were some little packets of girly treats - 'sweetheart' and 'love bug' chocolates. I've always loved lady birds since I was a little girl, so the lady bird shaped chocolates were a particular hit. I can't wait to snuggle up watching Gossip Girl with these sweet treats!

Of course, my mum couldn't send me a little package without there being something health-related! I'm always getting coughs and colds here in England and, up until now, I've only had liquid Echinacea which tastes disgusting! The tablets are sooo much better... (For those of you who don't know about Echinacea, it's pretty much the miracle cure to a common cold!) Vitamin C is also great for when you're feeling sniffly, but the tablets they sell are pretty big which makes them difficult for me to swallow, so these chewable ones are perfect.

Hands up if you've seen the Freedom Writers! If you haven't, stop reading this post right now and go watch it! Actually, no, finish reading this post first and then go watch it! It's about a group of kids growing up in a rough part of the city, surrounded by violence and racism, but who are eventually taught the importance of tolerance by an amazing teacher, Erin Gruwell and based on a true story! I remember watching it back in year 8 and I fell in love with it. I bought the book to read but never owned the film myself and haven't seen it in ages so I'm really excited to watch it again! My mum and I love Patrick Dempsey (we're big Grey's Anatomy fans) so this fits in with that too.

And last but not least, this gorgeous little photo frame! It's from Crate & Barrel and you can find it here. I'm a big lover of photos, so any photo frame will always be a great present for me! This one is super teeny, super cute and perfect to go on my desk! All I need to do now is find a photo for it...

And that's all for now! Hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know if you'd like to see a review post of the Bath & Body Works products once I've started using them!

    1. Yes - I don't think B&BW are in the UK yet which is really unfortunate! My parents live abroad so I'm really lucky that they have a shop over there! I think it is possible to order some products from Amazon though so that may be worth checking out :)
      Thanks for stopping by! xxx
