How to make your own cocktails

3:31 pm

Hey everybody!

As some of you may know, my boyfriend came to visit me at university last week, which was a great opportunity to do lots of new and exciting things that I hadn't necessarily done before! One of these things was... A cocktail making class! I thought this was such a cool idea as I've always been really impressed with bartenders making all different kinds of cocktails, so it was a great opportunity to learn how they do it. I managed to pick up a copy of the various cocktail recipes, so I thought I'd share a few of them with you all so maybe you'll be able to make your own cocktails!

Long Island Iced Tea

1. Fill the glass with 12.5ml of vodka, 12.5ml of gin, 12.5 ml of white rum and 12.5ml of tequila
2. Add half a squeezed lemon and shake
3. Fill the rest of the glass with cola

Cosmopolitan

1. Mix 25ml of vodka and 25ml of Cointreau together
2. Add half a squeezed lime
3. Fill the glass to the top with cranberry juice

Limoncello

1. Mix 6 pieces of lemon with sugar and crush them together so that the lemon absorbs the sugar
2. Fill the glass to the top with crushed ice
3. Add 25ml of white rum, followed by 25ml of Limoncello
4. Mix the drink before garnishing with a slice of lime

My Limoncello!

Sex on the Beach

1. Add 25ml of vodka and 25ml of Archers to the glass
2. Fill the rest with 90% cranberry juice and 10% orange juice
3. Garnish the glass with a slice of lime

West Indies Yellow Bird

1. Mix 25ml of white rum and 25ml of creme de banane
2. Fill to the top with 50% orange juice and 50% pineapple juice
3. Garnish the glass with a slice of lemon

I'm super excited about these cocktail recipes - next year, I'll be moving out of university accommodation and into a house with some of my friends, so it'll be great to be able to make our own cocktails and have cocktail nights!

Hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know if you decide to make any cocktails, or if you have any cocktail recipes of your own!
